The opening round of the Evergreen Drift Grassroots was one of the best days at the track we’ve ever seen. It was super sunny (hence the sun burns) and as you can see the drivers came out to put on a show!

Brandon first appeared at PGP last season and has been rocking out the little BMW ever since. He is the official winner of our closest to contest with a nice little wall tap right here.
Brad Elder drove his first Evergreen event the same day I did last year. This media mogul moved form behind the camera to a new office inside his car.

David Nedelcu was out again in the monster Mustang! We really wanted to see him Tandem with Marc-Andre Tatto as these guys both have some insane angle and it would have been a hard fought battle.
Here is my Midnighters teammate Marc-Andre Tatto utilizing some of the modifications he did over the off-season.
Galen Callahan was having a few troubles with the bank during the morning session, after flying off the end a few times he started to take it easy.
His friends must have given him one good pep-talk… because in the afternoon the 1jz Cressida went out and killed it.
Ive seen Gary Rayevich’s car a number of times in different videos coming out of Oregon, I loved how he rocked the car with no rear body work over the back half his tube frame. Although I was kinda bummed seeing all that body work in place, my mood quickly changed when he hit the track.
Watching Gary and Ricky Henderson tandem together was a blast to watch, the two coupes are built so differently and yet they slide so well with each other.
The power of the VQ and the weight of a stripped out 240sx just seem to be the perfect match for each other, all day Ricky was super consistent weather it be a solo run or tandeming with other cars.
I always get a big grin on my face when Casey Torres brings his 240sx missile car out to the track, constantly getting close to Andrew L while tandeming or going after the rear clipping points with the back of his car.
Unfortunately for Casey and the wall tap loving crowd the turbo blew up in the morning run group. Although not all ways lost, near the end of the day he found another turbo to help him get home.
Even with all the crashes, and parts breaking on cars the first round of the Evergreen Grassroots competition was a complete success. While I sit here typing away scratching my sun burnt nose, I look back with on Sunday with a huge smile on my face.
