Formula D “Throwdown” – Day 1

With the sun rising and the weather clearing it was looking to be another great weekend for Drifting in the Pacific Northwest.  Formula Drift was here and Ryan Benoit (From Dodologic) and I had climbed in the Big Boy Media drift car for the 2 hour drive to Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Wa.  We got settled in at the Northwest Nissans booth, unloaded the car and set up our chairs and table to have an area to go and sit and relax over the next few days.

Once we got headed out on track to watch some of the Pro drivers a familiar car came flying down the straight and into the monster 5/8ths mile bank!  Mr. Ian Fournier and his supercharged 5.6L V8 powered skyline!

Another local, Andrew Coomes, sliding into power alley getting ready for the tough transition against the wall!

Walker Wilkerson has lived the dream of every person that starts drifting.  He went from stock 240sx to pro drifter in under 5 years!  Always good to sit down and talk to Walker and it’ always a pleasure to watch him drive!  Although he kept getting closer and closer to the wall that I was standing at….

I’ve never seen this driver before but whomever it was… just was going balls to the wall!  Literally!

Dennis Mertzanis was coming off the bank at an insane rate of speed!  The car squats so much under that kind of load!

Kyle Pollard being chased down by Odi Bakchis…. A SR vs V8 battle to the max!

Matt Powers taking in some practice as the sun goes down!

Alright boys and girls, it’s off to day 2… Stay tuned!
